As the founder of AK Distillery, I get asked all the time about where our Polish-style moonshine and craft spirits are available. People are always looking for new things to try, especially when they’re out exploring local markets. Chester Market, with its vibrant mix of independent stalls, is definitely one of those places that springs to mind for anyone on the hunt for something a bit different.
While we love visiting markets all over the place, it’s not always straightforward to know which stalls stock which particular types of spirits. For us, bringing our Polish-style moonshine and flavoured spirits to new audiences is what it's all about. We craft our spirits right here in Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, using sugar, yeast, and water to create our distinct flavors, including everything from Traditional Moonshine to Pistachio and Peach. We don't use grain, sticking to our specific process to keep that authentic taste we've worked so hard on.

While we can't speak for other vendors at Chester Market, we do pop up there ourselves from time to time. In fact, we'll be at Chester Market on July 4th, selling our bottles of Polish-style moonshine and our full range of flavoured moonshine. Markets like this are a fantastic opportunity for us to meet customers, share a sample, and talk about what makes our spirits special. It's always a pleasure to see familiar faces and introduce our drinks to new ones.

Beyond markets, we're also working on something really exciting closer to home. We're developing a customer venue in Stalybridge, which we hope to open within the next three months. This space will be a fantastic opportunity to really immerse yourself in the AK Distillery experience, offering signature cocktails, our traditional moonshine, flavoured spirits, and even some light snacks like Polish kabanos and cheese selections. It’s going to be a welcoming social space for friends to gather and enjoy quality drinks.
